How do I use Data files

I was wondering how do I use other people's data files? If I download or even make my own data file using the editor (and compile) user content is grayed out.

It should be as simple as adding the .user file to your data folder.

When you say "User Content is greyed out" do you mean when you are configuring the hero at the start the selections on the right has a grey box that says "(no user sources defined)"? That would just mean that you didn't define any source that must be enabled for your created item to show.

Or do you mean that you can see the feat/class/whatever you built, but it is greyed out as invalid? If so, is there a message stating what pre-req is missing? You may have copied something to start then forgotten to remove/change the pre-reqs from the original thing. That has happened to me a time or two.
