Hi everybody ...

I'm pretty new to W40k and stumbled over Armybuilder ... it is
amazing how many options the prog offers and how many armies you can
build ... BUT ..

how do I know which datafile is up to date ? Often the points you pay
are very different from the ones I have here in a german WD.

In armybuilder the LOTD cost 20 but 25 when you believe the WD chart.

I'd ask de.rec.spiele.brett+karten (as I am german) but my newsserver
is not responding since 18.04. .. and you know how difficult it is to
find a free newsserver that allows you posting msgs

anyway .. thx in adv.

Michael
aka Hitcher

PS: can the LOTD join any army ?

There are two versions of the Legion of the Damned. Both are legal, they
come from different White Dwarfs.

All the other files should be 100% correct and up to date. Psi Pattern
is the latest, Omega Pattern should be out sometime this week. The Army
Builder section of http://www.skrill.org/ should have the latest version
at all times; if you're unsure, check there.

Thx a lot .. found the file. I'll stick to the english one as it is
much more 'complete'

But there is still one think I don't understand ...

When I create a SM roster .. they (LOTD) cost 20 and have WS of 5 but
only one cc attack

when I choose to create a LOTD roster .. its 25 Points with a WS of 4
and 2 cc attacks ...

why is this ? sorry but I don't

If you would help me doing the translations of the files
when AB 2.0 is released, we might have a complete german
version in the future. But there is no way Iīm gonna
completely translate and maintain all the races that I donīt
play.

So whatīs up? Got some spare time?

bye

Mail them to me, Iīll try doinī some.

btw, I prefer english files too, because some of the german name are quite
off track.
I have finished half of the 2nd Edition files by now, only working with the
german codices but try to stick to english as much as I can.
A friend of mine is doing the translation for fantasy files, which takes up
a lot of time.

If anyone wants the 2nd Ed files, hereīs a list of those Iīve finished.

Necrons
Squats (BlackBook)
Tyranids
Eldar (wow, what a bunch of work)
Ultramarines
Imperial Guard
Assassins
Space Wolves (still in beta state, īcause this was the first codex I did, I
will put out a better one soon)
Sororitas

codices to follow:
Blood Angels
Dark Angels
Chaos
Orks (Iīm afraid of this one ;-)

Regards
Mathias

hey that wasn't ment to be criticism I'm grateful and really like
your work. As I don't play all races (didn't even finish one army,
Imp Fists) I see the english file more as a compendium ) Quick Ref.
or so )

Spare time ? uhh .. where can I get some

Being serious .. I don't mind to help .. but I still don't have all
the rulesets. What race would you propose ?

The army was in WD236. The single squad was somewhat before that, I'm
not sure where exactly.

The two versions were:

1) A Legion of the Damned squad, which you could add to your normal
Space Marine armies. It had WS5 and 1A.
2) A Legion of the Damned army, in which the standard trooper had WS4
and 2A.

Dunno why they decided to do that.

Alright, Iīll get back to you and Michael as soon as AB 2.0
is released and Colin has made his next update thereafter.

I will translate all the non-heretic Space Marines, Dark
Eldar and Orks.

I might do partial translations of Chaos Space Marines and
Eldar (only names, no rules) and I will prepare (and patch)
all other datafiles so you can start working on them in
ABCreator right away.

So you both can think about the rest...

>btw, I prefer english files too, because
>some of the german name are quite
>off track.

Itīs a matter of taste and who you play with. Anyhow, itīs
much easier to play with the rules printed on the roster in
german if your opponent does not understand english good
enough. And then you also can do the roster files for him,
so I prefer the german files (I guess thatīs why I started
working on them in the first place...).

>I have finished half of the 2nd Edition
>files by now, only working with the
>german codices but try to stick to

As I restarted my miniature interest right when 3rd Ed WH40k
appeared, I didnīt care too much about 2nd Ed (bought the
codices and rulebooks nonetheless, I thought they are worth
it just for the background that unfortunately is missing in
the new ones...).

bye
Wolfgang
