I've downloaded the demo for HL and enjoy it a lot. My group has been looking for a robust system to help keep track of our characters, and this could be it. However, I have a few questions before I (and eventually my group) spend our money.

First; Will HL eventually have datafiles for supporting all of the SRD, such as Unearthed Arcana, XPH, etc? If so, will gestalt be implemented in that system?

Second: Will HL license and support exclusive content like the Complete series?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Yes, that's the plan. We've been adding a bunch of the optional mechanisms from the above sources that are officially SRD in the more recent updates. We've mapped out how things like Gestalt classes will smoothly integrate with the current framework. We just need to get it all implemented. We'll be adding that stuff in pieces while we also add lots of other stuff that is on the todo list.

Not unless some dramatic turn of events occurs at Wizards. :-( We spent a LONG time discussing the possibility of this with Wizards (well over a year). Then Wizards pulled all of their licenses from everyone, including Paizo, MWP, and many others. All discussions about the topic then came to an end. At this point, Wizards isn't licensing anyone to do anything. While we would very much like the opportunity to license that material from Wizards, the current Wizards business model is to deny anyone from having such a license. Unless that philosophy changes, no one will be able to provide Wizards content like the Complete series.

In light of this philosophy from Wizards, we've striven to make it as easy as possible to add new content to the data files. That way, you can readily add the various feats, equipment, classes, etc. that you want to use from those books. To see how this works, please go through the various tutorials included in the documentation.

If you have further questions about this stuff - or anything else - don't hesitate to ask.
