What does this function do?
Does it wipe out all of the data that you've input or does it just put the tags and stuff to base installation? |

Restoring is the counterpart of backup. When you restore, you must specify a saved backup file to restore. The entire contents of that backup will then overwrite your current database, which spans all realms.

There are some upcoming changes to the Backup/Restore workflow that should make this more clear.
Also, we're very careful about giving you warnings before doing anything that will intentionally remove/delete your data. Restore is a particularly destructive example (as Rob described), so we're taking special precautions to make sure the user knows what they are about to do. As far as reverting your structure (categories and tags mostly) back to their defaults, we are looking at implementing this feature in the future as well. This would only affect your changes to "official" categories and tags however. You'd have to pick through and remove your own custom categories and tags yourself. |
