Try running the installs again on the laptop, but this time UNcheck the box
on the final install page that auto-launches CV. Does that make a difference? For those who have encountered the XP problem and those who have not, does your system have all the latest XP patches and updates on it? I'm starting to wonder whether Microsoft released a new "fix" recently that actually breaks things. It sure wouldn't be the first time they've done something monumentally stupid like that. Let us know whatever you can about your system if you are running XP. Is it Home or Pro? Is it SP1 or not? Do you have auto-updates enabled or not (for XP, not CV)? Etc..... I even have .NET, etc. I have Windows XP Pro at home and Windows 2000 AS at work. Both are up to date with ALL the patches, etc. I even have the latest of MSXML, ADO, etc. Sincerely, Michael Cox --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! The IS department here at works picks what patches are or are not loaded onto my system, but I have most of the recent security patches on this system (to the best of my knowledge). ===== --- Kuni Tetsu Clan War rules guy Moderator of ClanWar-l __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I had already done this, hearing from another user about the run-time lock up. CV 1.4 runs fine. I haven't had any problems other than the install programs locking up on exit. > > For those who have encountered the XP problem and those who have not, > does > your system have all the latest XP patches and updates on it?
