I want to be able to have a tab always available (or with one click) that I can use as the hub of my world/campaign. One way is if I could redefine the home to point to the topic that I am using (in this case, a storyline). Is this possible?
Alternatively, is it possible to "pin" a tab to a topic so that it is always visible? This would mean that clicks on links in that topic would open a new tab, rather than replace the content of that tab. I searched the user docs but couldn't find anything on how to do this. If I have to, I can add snippets to the home article to make it the hub, but it is not really using it for the purpose intended, I think. |

Actually, I think the home page is meant to be the "hub".

It is, but what happens if for some reason your "Welcome to XXX" page is missing?
Mine's gone. Can't find it, and can't reload it. Thoughts? EDIT: never mind, found it 2 seconds after posting this. Last edited by Pollution; June 16th, 2014 at 06:09 AM. |

I thought I read somewhere in tips and tricks that a storyline should be a hub. Even if not it seems from the stated purpose of the topic types that storyline would make more sense.
But regardless, one can of course add any snippits to any topic, just about and make any topic do just about anything, so there is no reason the home article can't be used as the hub. But I still think the system should either allow you to change the home position, or pin a tab. Why? If you use Realmworks to build a whole campaign, or a whole world with multiple campaign/adventure opportunities, you want to be able to use different "hubs" for different play sessions as the players move through multiple storylines. I added a feature request to the forum asking for the ability to either redefine home or pin a tab. |

The home makes a good campaign hub with player background and GM links for plots and major NPCs. And a storyline makes a good adventure hub within your overall world.
I'd recommend adding links to your home hub for each of your storyline hubs. That gives you instant access to all of your storylines without cluttering your tabs with multiple inactive plots. Regardless, pinning tabs is a good idea. Region maps, main NPC's, etc all would be nice to ensure are always available without having to scroll through the home hub. |
