1. I still want to see named output formats.

2. Cardvault needs to remember what folder your decks are in by a game
by game basis.

3. A nitpick issue, but when I was playing around with saving an
inventory XML, it used the title of my current deck in the default
name. Didn't seem to make much sense to me.

4. I want like be be able to set Cardvault to use the target value for
all versions of the same card

5. Don't know how exactly when card vault saves the inventory or if it
periodicalyl checkpoints the data automatically, but I would like to
be able to force a save.

6. For selection required tags in a group, I would like an invert option.

7. The what's new list indicates the card view has arrows to navigate
to next/previous card. Don't see 'em. In any case, I would like to
see two sets, one as it supposedly supposed to work, and another to
cycle to different version of the current card.

8. i would like to specify information to appear both in the grid and
the card detail box.

9. I would like to specify an indepent sort order for data in the card
view box in the inventory (since this one shows everything).

10. It would be nice if the grids emphasized every three 3 lines in
some fashion. Would help in reading data across a row.

11. Would like to see the documentation in a single PDF file.

12. This isn't a cardvault problem, but a plea to the various db
authors. In situations where the are multiple versions of the same
card, have an identification field that shows how to recognize which
version (a quick description of card art, copyright date, etc.)

My answers are interspersed below. Since your comments are focused on
relatively small details within the product, I'm going to assume you were
happy with the major changes in V1.1 and are just pointing out refinements
you'd like to see. If this is an invalid assumption, please let me know
otherwise. :-)

You can easily do this by specifying what folder to save the decks into. Or
am I not understanding you correctly?

That sounds like an oops.

You can do this with batch editing. Select the "no constraints" values for
language and style.

Or do you have something else in mind?

CV saves the inventory IMMEDIATELY when you make a change. Well, actually
it saves changes the moment to leave a record to do something else (go to
another record, change the filter, etc.). So the worst case you'll run into
is that CV doesn't save the LAST change that you made.

CV automatically checkpoints the inventory data every time you load a game
system, maintaining a backup of the last two successfully loaded inventory
databases. Just in case you need to go back and restore.

>6. For selection required tags in a group, I would like an invert option.

It's in there. Click on the little triangle button next to "Required Tags".
Select "Exclude Selected Tags".

Currently, the arrows only allow you to cycle within the deck construction
lists - not the inventory - so they aren't visible within inventory. If you
want to see complete inventory data, you can use the Accessory Window for
showing card info. See the Settings menu.

We'll add this to the inventory window in the future.

>In any case, I would like to

I'll put this on the todo list.

Please explain. I think I understand what you're asking for, but I don't
want to make rash assumptions.

>9. I would like to specify an indepent sort order for data in the card

Do you mean "sort" order or do you mean sequence of fields? If the former,
I don't understand. If the latter, then I believe this uses the order
specified in the view (but I'm not sure of this). I'll add the latter to
the todo, since I'm pretty sure that's what you mean.

Duly noted.

Our plan is to get that put together as a separate download.

In defense of the data file authors, this information is unfortunately very
hard to come by. And I've yet to see this information available anywhere as
part of electronic versions of complete card information. Consequently,
getting this info into the data files will be a very time-intensive
process. As the data files become more mature, I expect you'll see this
info starting to appear. But my guess is that this info is going to be one
of the last things you see appearing due to its nature. The authors are
going to focus first on adding the most information to the files as
possible in the shortest timeframe.

Thanks, Rob

Yeah, looks pretty cool

Any chance of seeing this anytime soon, or will this have to wait for
another six months?

If I can specify a default directory to save decks into I am missing
it. If I open/save a deck to a folder, then switch to another game
system, it will remember the last place I saved/loaded from and not
just the game. As a result of this, I have accidently save Lord of
the Rings decks in my Game of Thrones folder and vice versa.

That is not what I am getting at. For example, I would like to say
that I want 4 Gronks, but they can be any gronks, standard, foil, etc.
Thus then if I enter 1 foil Gronk and 2 normal Gronks, it would only
show an acquire of 1.

Ok, thats cool then. Couldn't be certain, but I though I heard HD
accesses in that situation.

If I select it,all the check boxes clear, and all the clear boxes
get "don't"-ed. For the effect I want, I want the checked boxes to
get "don't"-ed (or checked boxes to uncheck and vice versa).

Where this came up was in Lord of the Rings. For the various culture
cards, they come in two formats. The allies and companians have the
card name on top, the rest of the culture cards have the name along
the top left edge. I keep my cards sorted by these two types to make
it easer to find cards. I want to select allies and companians in a
particular culture, manage my inventory, hit the invert button to
select all the card types I had not selected before.

I didn't see it anywhere, inventory or deck construction.

If I specify columns and sequence of information, I can either have a
particular piece of data show up in the grid, in the info box, or not
at all. I am going to modify this request and 9 before to be able to
independately control both, instead of tying them together like this.

What I am trying to acclomplish is to show ALL data relevant to game
play in the card view box even if it is already showing in the grid.

This is a lot more important in the deck construction card view
window than the inventory version.

Yay. Having it in a single file makes searches a lot either. Either
PDF or a windows help file would work for this.

Probably made that a bit stronger than I meant to. Just something I
wanted to bring to db authors minds if they hadn't considered it. I
agree it is a low priority item.

It'd be nice if the saved files would be, by default, placed into a
decks directory structure that mirrored the data directory structure. Hence
all of my DBZ decks would be stored in decks/dbz by default and my Buffy
decks would be stored in decks/buffy.

That's a significant feature (saving named filters), so it won't appear
until a subsequent feature update. At this point in time, it is highly
UNlikely you will see it sooner than 6 months. If users had let us know
this was an important thing to add prior to the V1.1 release, we could have
juggled the things added to V1.1. Unfortunately, we're finding this out
AFTER the release. Sorry. :-(

This is now added to the todo list. In the meantime, you might consider
just prefixing the deck name with an appropriate indicator of the game
system (e.g "[LotR] My killer deck.dck"). This might eliminate the
confusion until we can get the feature added.

OK, now I understand. That's significantly more complex than the current
mechanism allows and would require non-trivial changes to the database and
how the code is handled. I've added this to the todo list, although it is
probably on the scale of a V2.0 feature (please don't ask for a timeframe,
since we don't have one yet <G>).

Ah! Now I understand. It's been added to the todo list.

Viewing the complete details for a card within deck construction is
accessed via the right-click menu. Right-click on a card and select "View
Card Details".

OK. So you effectively want to be able to put a check in BOTH the "column"
and "info" boxes within the View form, having the information show up in
both places.

>This is a lot more important in the deck construction card view

If it gets added to one, it's virtually free to add it to the other. :-)

Thanks, Rob

This is how I do it by hand, only I also have an Armies/ directory for the WizKids games.

I might've skipped over it, but is this something on the to-do list now?

Yes. After all the "me too" posts, it's high on the priority list, too. :-)
