I am not seeing a way to add a new tag to the Rule System.

Only seeing Fate and Pathfinder... wanted to add something along the lines of d20 (Legacy) for all the d20 and 3.5 stuff.

You can create a .1st file.

See attached. Dresden Files is based on FATE. I wanted to use tags to distinguish some things from other things. As long as the file name is unique, the extension is .1st, and the groups and tags you define don't conflict other groups and tags, you should be fine. This file will be loaded automatically.

OK, I can't attach the file, so I'll just copy the code.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<document signature="Hero Lab Structure">

<!-- ======================================== -->
<!-- CUSTOM GROUPS AND TAGS FOR DRESDEN FILES -->
<!-- ======================================== -->
  <!-- Dresden Files custom tags -->
  <group id="Supernat"     name="Supernatural Powers">
  	<value id="Supernat"   name="Supernatural Power"/>
    <value id="Creature"   name="Creature Features"/>
    <value id="Faerie"     name="Faerie Magic"/>
    <value id="Item"       name="Item of Power"/>
    <value id="Minor"      name="Minor Abilities"/>
    <value id="Nevnev"     name="Nevernever Powers"/>
    <value id="Psychic"    name="Psychic Abilities"/>
    <value id="Shapeshft"  name="Shapeshifting"/>
    <value id="Speed"      name="Speed"/>
    <value id="Spellcraft" name="Spellcraft"/>
    <value id="Strength"   name="Strength"/>
    <value id="Tough"      name="Toughness"/>
    <value id="Faith"      name="True Faith"/>
    <value id="Vampirism"  name="Vampirism"/>
  </group>

  <group id="Template"     name="Character Template">
    <value id="Template"   name="Template"/>
    <value id="Champion"   name="Champion of God"/>
    <value id="Changeling" name="Changeling"/>
    <value id="Emissary"   name="Emissary of Power"/>
    <value id="Focused"    name="Focused Practitioner"/>
    <value id="Knight"     name="Knight of a Faerie Court"/>
    <value id="Lycanthrop" name="Lycanthrope"/>
    <value id="MinorTalen" name="Minor Talent"/>
    <value id="PureMortal" name="Pure Mortal"/>
    <value id="RedCrtInf"  name="Red Court Infected"/>
    <value id="Sorcerer"   name="Sorcerer"/>
    <value id="TrueBeliev" name="True Believer"/>
    <value id="WereForm"   name="Were-Form"/>
    <value id="WhtCrtVamp" name="White Court Vampire"/>
    <value id="WhtCrtVirg" name="White Court Virgin"/>

Uh... I think he means how to add a new Rules System to the selection list when you create a Realm.

As far as I know, they're not "tags" and users can't create them.

Of course, if this is a HeroLab question, then I have NO idea what it is about.

And if it is not, it could still have been clearer. In general, my old Advanced Expository Writing class had the philosophy "You can assume your reader knows the language, but is not familiar with anything else"... meaning you can never over-explain what you mean, but it is easy to under-explain it. I like to summarize it as "Pretend the reader is an idiot and spell everything out."

For Realm Works, go to the Manage Menu Item, Click the Tags button, Scroll down to the Rule System and hover over it. A hammer and wrench icon will appear next to the scroll bar. Click the hammer/wrench icon. This will allow you to duplicate the Rule System Tag Category, where you can add additional rule systems, like 5e, M&M, d20. You just can't modify the delivered Rule System tags, but you can create your own category.

Minutus cantorum, minutus balorum, minutus carborata descendum pantorum.

So basically in RW, I would have to create a duplicate Rule System Tag Domain? No way to add anything to the delivered (existing) one?

Strange that you can't add tags to the rules system tag domain in the more usual manner but is there any evidence that such changes will persist across the whole installation?

Any changes to tags are local to the domain.
