There is nothing wrong with line 396 of the l5r.def file. It is a simple tag
definition. I would say try downloading it again, either that or there is something wrong with your machine... bad disk or memory perhaps? --- TheCoruptWarlord@aol.com wrote: > In a message dated 3/16/2003 2:39:09 PM Pacific Standard Time, > kuni_tetsu@yahoo.com writes: > > > > What is the entire message from CV? That is why I said to make a backup of your inventory first - and make sure you
store it in a different directory. In the Inventory manager, choose "Save inventory XML file". Save it somewhere else (preferably some form of removable media in case your drive is going bad). Then replace the directory and then select "Load inventory XML file" to read it back in. We certainly don't want anything to happen to your inventory file! --- TheCoruptWarlord@aol.com wrote: > In a message dated 3/16/2003 2:38:28 PM Pacific Standard Time, > kuni_tetsu@yahoo.com writes: > > > > Try backing up your inventory to a different directory, deleting the entire > > > L5R > > directory, and then re-installing the newest version. > > > > What OS are you running this on? > > > > Unfortunately, Rob is out of town at GAMA, so I don't know how much help I > > will > > be, since I only do the data file. > > > > > > Oops, I run Windows ME. I do have a backup on my perfectly running version on my work computer. I d/l it this time instead of trying the automatic update, but bummer same problem. Sigh. Huh. I don't know what to tell you. This one is going to have to wait for Rob
or Ed to have a chance to respond, I think. All I can tell you is that (at least on my machine) line 396 of the L5R.def file is the same format as line 395, 394, and 393, all of which load correctly. Tell you what... Send me your l5r.def file (zipped please) and I will compare them. That will at least tell me if it is the def file, or CV that is having the difficulty --- TheCoruptWarlord@aol.com wrote: > In a message dated 3/16/2003 6:31:48 PM Pacific Standard Time, > kuni_tetsu@yahoo.com writes: > > > > In the Inventory manager, choose "Save inventory XML file". You can copy the file by hand too -- look for the inv.cvz in the cardvault\data\l5r directory. If you are really paranoid (I am), copy all of the inv*.* files. ------------------------ Yahoo! Rob is getting plagued by bad installs. Glad to hear you are up and running! Let me know if you have any feedback about the files. There is still work to do, but at least the majority of the data is now in place. This is in large part due to Ed Bolme, who massaged the data into a form I could use to make most of the data files! He has also been playing typo patrol on all of those cards. ===== --- Kuni Tetsu Clan War rules guy Moderator of ClanWar-l __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I'm back from the show and trying to get caught up on everything. Thanks
for everyone's patience.... From the description of the error and a look at the L5R files, it sure sounds like you are running V1.0 and not V1.1. To verify the version of CV you're running, launch CV, load the tutorial samples data files, then go to the Help menu and select About Card Vault. It should say V1.1 - Build 34. If not, that's the problem. Note that you must install the V1.1 update after downloading it. Yes, this may seem obvious to some, but this issue has stumped at least one user already, so I'm pointing it out for completeness. :-) For the person who did a clean uninstall/reinstall of CV, this definitely sounds like it may have been problem. Note to Bob: You might want to add the "cvreq" attribute to the definition file, requiring V1.1. This would ensure that everyone has V1.1 before trying to load the L5R files. You may have already done this (I haven't looked at the files), but I'm flagging this just in case. :-) Hope this helps, Rob At 06:34 PM 3/16/2003 +0000, you wrote: >...as in, > >"The following errors occurred:..." > > and > >"Due to the unexpected error loading the new game system, > Card Vault is unable to continue and must exit." > > >Anyone know how I can fix this?
