Hopefully this is an easy question.

What field specifies the name of the weapon on the Weapons tab? Is it a derived field that I can add to?

Thanks!

Projects: Legendary Rogue (Legendary Games) 94.9%, Assassin (Interjection Games) 81%, Eldritch Godling (Super Genius Games) 51.3%, Mighty Godling (Super Genius Games) 36.4%, Clever Godling (Super Genius Games) 31.1%, Adept Godling (Super Genius Games) 27.2%, Legendary Cavalier (Legendary Games) 18.7%, Fortunate (rebuild of Luckbringer, Rite Publishing) 14.6%

You can edit the 'name' of a magic/custom/MW weapon directly on the weapons tab.
Having given something a new name, I looked at Data File Debugging > Info Windows. I'm getting actName (Activation Name) and trkBaseNm (Name without usage details) - this might be what you want. They only seem to be active if you customised the name.

Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew).
HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP).

DM and player of D&D since 1980.

Thanks for the assist Dami. Unfortunately, neither of those fields modified the weapon name. I decided to place the added weapon ability through the #extradamage macro. It puts the ability in the wrong place, format-wise, but at least it appears on the weapons tab now. I appreciate your help!

If you weren't already aware, when "enable data file debugging" ticked, you can right-click on any text in HLC and it will give a popup menu showing various options. Here you can see what fields/values/tags are relevant to the item you're interested in.

There's not a different answer for weapons - they use the same livename field that almost everything else does for when you want to change the name.
