I've just started to get this error message:

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Portal 'mythic' - Bitmap file could not be loaded: C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\pathfinder\mythic_spell.bmp
Portal 'mythic' - Bitmap file could not be loaded: C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\pathfinder\mythic_spell.bmp
Portal 'mythic' - Bitmap file could not be loaded: C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\pathfinder\mythic_spell.bmp

I've not changed or updated anything since the last time I loaded herolab and now nothing will load.

any ideas on what is the issue here?

Stuff dealing with .bmp or images is usually HL core stuff. I would recommend trying to reinstall the latest Pathfinder.hl file.

In windows you can find this file at c:\ProgramData\HeroLab\download\pathfinder.hl. Worse case re-download from website or inside of HL and let it install Pathfinder again.

Nice! I don't have a good reason why the above happens sometimes. If the reinstall of Pathfinder didn't fix it you would had needed to put in an email with support.

I have only had it do stuff like that when I do "strange" things in the editor and HL crashes hard.

Still something going on. Working in the editor and getting:

Hero Lab was forced to stop compilation after the following errors were detected:

Resource 'incs_upd' - Bitmap file could not be loaded: C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\pathfinder\incr_ud_small_plus_down.bmp

I would put in an email with support@wolflair.com to get help. I am out of ideas as it shouldn't constantly be done that. Once is a fluke that a reinstall fixes. Twice means something is wrong..
