Yes, I know there is a Ctrl+Shift+F shortcut to open the search modal box. But using it is really not that efficient, for few reasons:
A simple solution: new keyboard shortcut for an actual quick search or "jump to article" function. If you press this key combination, let's say Ctrl+Shift+G (G like in "Go to"):
That's it: no permanent articles filtering, no modifications to navigation menu - just quick and simple "find and display". You could actually make this feature even more usable by adding an option to add the article if the searched content is not there. A user would simply select "Add {query string} as a new topic" and after the enter is pressed on that option selected he shall then select the category for this topic in the same exact manner as quick-searching for it. I.e. typing "ent" would mark the option "Entity" selected. You then press "Enter" et voila: you get your new topic created and opened in the current tab, ready for editing. And all of that without even touching the mouse. |
