The thing that makes the collectible, to me anyway, is again, the
flavor text. "Storms over Matsu Palace" has the story of the battle
on the flavor text of the cards and to my knowledge, does not appear
in any other sets.

Well... since I have those cards, I can enter that myself.

Hmmm... If I give these sets an order smaller than all legitimate sets, then
they will always collapse to the "bottom", and not be visible unless those are
the only thing you select. That might be the best way to do them, so that they
will not impact anyone looking at deck design.

Rob, can I adjust the order of the episodes without impacting Inventory files?

If I cannot, then we will have to think of something else.

Surely there's a way to make it collapse *under*...

Hmmm... I notice that Portal cards in the Magic collapse
over 'regular' prior editions in Magic like 4th Edition (effectively
making the Portal cards MRPs which I am pretty sure they are not). Is
that a mistake?

Shouoldn't be a problem; IIRC, the inventory stuff is delineated by set.

I know that for MND, we forced the demo decks and such to the bottom of the
list, but then again, I am not a prgorammer.

Nor can I type, as you might be able to tell by the numerous typos.

Odd, that, especially consdiering I am finishing my third novel.

You can change the 'special' and 'order' tags for a card as much as you
like without affecting inventories. If you want, you could give them a very
low 'special' value (so that they don't interfere with MRP rules) but their
proper 'order' value, and make the tag group be sorted explicitly. That way
they'd appear in the right order when sorted by release, but would be
'overruled' by all other cards when MRP was being used. The Magi-Nation
datafiles do this.

It's easy to control which cards collapse under or over within CV data
files (just set the values appropriately for the releases). However, I
think Bob is thinking it would be useful for the newbie to have the cards
distinct and shown side-by-side, hence the placement of some extra text to
distinguish the card in its name.

If all you want to do is have the cards collapse UNDER, then set the values
for the SoMP and SoSM releases to be something small and they'll be
overridden by cards from any release with a higher number.

And it's perfectly valid to CHANGE the release numbers between releases of
the data files without it impacting inventory or saved decks (things were
designed to accommodate this sort of hindsight smoothly).

Hope this helps,
Rob

The various releases in MtG are simply number incrementally based on date
of release. It sounds like this was an oversight and should be corrected.
I'll let Robert know.....

Thanks, Rob
