I just installed the latest version of Hero Lab (3.6e) & the d20 System (v3.10) update, and now the editor will not allow me to modify any of the d20 srd files. I get an error message saying:
"Warning! This file is not present in the folder for the active game system. You may view the contents of the file, but not modify it." However, if I move the file I want to open out of its original folder, it causes startup errors with HL, so the original folder must be the correct folder. Any ideas how to fix this? |

Be careful changing the SRD files. you might want to copy the file and work with that rather then risk messing up the system.

Instead of altering the existing files, and having your changes overwritten every time you update the files, create new files in the editor, and add your new content there.
The /source directory is just a reference, it is NOT the set of files that are used to make the d20 game system. The new files you create will go in HeroLab/data/d20 (which is the default save location in the d20 editor). |
