Is there an easy way to confirm crits when using HL on the iPad?
I have an 11th level monk with 5 attacks when using Flurry at +20, +20, +15, +15, +10. A sample roll comes up 40 (1d20)+20; 7 (1d20)+20; 19 (1d20)+15; 8 (1d20)+15; 18 (1d20)+10. Assuming I'm reading it correctly, the 1st roll in that sequence is a critical (Natural 20) and needs to be confirmed for double damage. Is the intention that I switch to rolling a single melee attack for the confirmation, or am I missing something that would allow a faster confirmation? It would be kind of nice if HL just rolled a confirmation in the roll sequence and noted it by bolding or something, so it could be handled automagically. drivingmenuts "neutiquam erro" |

There is no way at present to confirm a crit roll, other than making a separate roll. While the dice roller adds bonuses, it doesn't/can't tell HL what the actual roll was. (It doesn't know if you crit.)
Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew). HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP). DM and player of D&D since 1980. |

Yes, it "would be kind of nice" if HL did that, but it doesn't. I had to push a few times to get the dice roller on the iPad to even use some kind of animation so that you could tell that a second button press was even accepted! And I've asked for text highlighting to indicate a critical hit (a green background color for the text of rolls that are potential crits and a red background for potential critical failures), but no luck so far.
It would also be helpful if there was a log of recent rolls a la the hit point modifier panel which shows a damage/healing log. |
