This comes from the discussion forum where questions were being asked about the database.
I think it would be nice to have some form of auto-sync/export option (I put the slash in for the people who want it to auto export vs auto sync) with a time being a parameter the user can enter. This would be an option, not a forced. So in other words, I could set mine to Auto Export 1/hour, or even 1/minute (though obviously that would slow down my user experience). I could forsee that network traffic might be a complaint for the cloud, so maybe you dont allow the auto-sync to happen more than 1/15 minutes, but auto export should be whatever the user wanted, as its their own hard drive. |

+1 here too.
Sleet was enjoying a tasty beverage at his local tavern, when a Tarrasque showed up in the local area. He managed to valiantly get on it's back and ride it. How he did it is a mystery to this day... +1 from me too. Since I use the cloud as a means to back up my database I always sync before exiting.

+1 here.
How about a feature in the fora, where you can up- or downvote a suggestion? This way we could avoid a myriad of identical posts saying "Yeah, me too! +1" Vargr Deputy Calendar Champion Legend has it, that the Tarrasque is a huge fighting beast, perpetually hungry. Sleet entered History when he managed to get on the back of a Tarrasque only to be ridden out of History shortly after. Using Realm Works, Worldographer (Hexographer 2), LibreOffice, Daz3D Studio, pen & paper for the realm World of Temeon and the system LEFD - both homebrewed. |

I used to program for vBulletin, and basically it would would require everything new suggestion being a poll. You wouldnt really have "Upvote, Downvote" but "Yes/No". People could still comment, but they can only vote once. It obviously depends on which version of vBulletin they are running here.

ObTopic: Auto-sync on exit (rather than getting prompted to do it if you're logged in) would be nice. Periodic export or sync while working is useful, but for once I'm not that worried about it losing what I've been doing while I'm working. It's already making a backup of the local database at every startup, so I'd only lose so much. (Longer work sessions would change this perspective, I'm sure. :) I'm assuming that letting you set the locations where Realm Works stores your active data and the backup folder are still features on the list of things to implement. That would be very nice! That way I could have the datafile(s) on my RAID-configured NAS, improving data-safety. At the moment, you have to be outside the realm in order to sync it, so we can't do interval-based syncing yet. It's been on the todo list for a long time, and we just need to address a few more details in order to do it smoothly. In the meantime, we can look at using the other suggestions here.
