Greetings Lab Rats!

Here's the press release that went out today announcing the partnership between Hero Lab and Paizo's Pathfinder products:

August 10, 2007 (BELLEVUE, Wash./SAN JOSE, Calif.) – Paizo Publishing®, LLC and Lone Wolf Development™ have announced that Paizo's eagerly awaited Pathfinder series of monthly Adventure Path™ modules will be fully supported by Hero Lab, the revolutionary RPG character software from Lone Wolf Development. Hero Lab users will have access to custom character types, unique items, and character art galleries featuring Pathfinder artwork. As part of an extensive partnership between the two companies, Pathfinder subscribers will also receive access to Hero Lab and the Pathfinder data files as an added benefit of their subscription. Hero Lab will support the generation of character sheets, stat blocks, and other game materials in the same format used in Pathfinder books.

"We've been delighted by the enthusiastic reception that Pathfinder has received, and we're equally delighted to be partnering with Lone Wolf Development. They've demonstrated time and again their ability to deliver software that offers unprecedented utility and flexibility to gamers. Hero Lab will be an incredible aid to our readers and players," said Erik Mona, Paizo's Publisher.

Rob Bowes, President of Lone Wolf Development, said, "When we first learned about Pathfinder, we knew that Paizo would bring gamers some of the best roleplaying adventure material that money can buy. Both Hero Lab users and Pathfinder readers are on the leading edge of the curve of RPG play, so a partnership between our two companies was a natural step. We couldn't be happier to be supporting the Pathfinder line."

The first Pathfinder data files for Hero Lab are tentatively slated for release this fall. For more information, go to paizo.com and wolflair.com.

Why can't it be both? Neither has said it was an exclusive arrangement...

Correct. Our agreement with Paizo is non-exclusive, and it makes sense for
Paizo to team up with multiple tool developers to ensure that Pathfinder
reaches the widest audience possible. :-)
