Hey everyone,

Today I thought of a feature that I think should be in Card Vault - some
sort of indicator that a Filter is operational. The reason I believe this
is needed is because today I spent quite a while trying to work out why the
inventory was malfunctioning, only to discover that I'd told it to only
show cards I had 0 of. Sigh.

So. Has anyone else run into a similar problem? Does anyone think that such
a thing would be useful? Can anyone think of a good way to indicate that a
filter is active?

Any responses are appreciated.

Thanks,

I haven't run into the exact same problem, but I think it would be useful to
know at a glance if there is a filter active. Perhaps the button to bring up
the filter menu might show up a different color if a filter is active? Just a
random thought.

Great Idea!

To keep it simple, you could have a button appear just the the right
of the info button (in deckbuilder) or the pricing button (in
inventory). hovering the mouse over the button could show a tooltip
with the active filters.

even simpler would be the suggestion made of changing the color by
adding another image resource for the filter button to show it as
active (e.g. "filter_on"). This way it could be modified when
developing skins. and you can still use the suggested hover
functionality above.

I would suggest that the "filter_on" button is shown only when the
filter(s) used are not the default. (instead of no filtering at all).

Yes, I'd like that feature, even better would be the ability to save certain
filters to a "favorites" like a browser does links, so that I could just go
up to the menu and have a drop down list to select from my predefined
filters. I could name the filter and then just click on it for "only
shadowlands personalities in diamond edition" or some such.

You can already save and load filters from the Filters form; do you mean
you want to be able to select them from a menu without using the Filters
form at all?

That sounds like what he's requesting. I could see it as a boon. It
could be made into a new top level menu. I'm not sure how much
programming would be involved though.

I don't know how much trouble a menu item would be, but I was envisioning
that the filters I had saved would appear under a "favorites" menu similar
to internet explorer does favorites. That way it would make switching
between my filters a snap. Bringing up the filter menu and clicking several
times could be eliminated.

Just a thought.
