Hey, so i just started using hero labs, and have been trying to use the Editor, but it confuses the hell out of me

Been trying to make a Dragon Shaman / Druid Gestalt class, but am completely lost, can someone give me a quick run down on how it works, or share their dragon shaman / Druid if they have one

I'm not sure there's such a thing as a "quick rundown". Gestalt classes are currently not supported in d20, but you can fake it with a class variant. I would probably use the Druid as the base then add the Dragon Shaman abilities. If you have the community set (http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=11584), you can see how other class variants are done.

Gestalt options are not easily doable in hero lab. You have to make your own class effectively to cover the multiclass you are building. Unearthed Arcana detailed the process, but if I remember right it's basically taking the best options from two base classes. You should also be sure your DM will allow the gestalt option as well. Many DMs do not allow them.

Please do not PM me to inquire about datafiles I coded "for personal use" such as Exalted, World of Darkness, AD&D, or Warhammer 40K Roleplaying. I appreciate your interest, but I do not own the Intellectual Property rights to these game systems. Nor do I have permission from any of the Publishers to distribute the data files. As such, I cannot distribute the work I have done with community on these files. They are "for personal use" only. Thank you.

I am far too busy these days to answer emails. If you message me here there is no guarantee I will get back to you at all.

Yes, that's basically how gestalts work, normally they are used in situations where you dont have enough of the right kinds of classes. For the situation, and there are some fairly significant drawback, for example, you level at a much reduced rate, essentially being two classes at the same time. That's not an easy thing to manage in hero labs, dynamically adjusting your LA..

I've made myself a cleric/rogue gestalt, but I'm not quite happy with how it came out, it doesn't follow the rules close enough. Once I get it figured out I'll perhaps make some more, unfortunately you cannot make gestalts of two caster classes, at least not easily. The HL staff suggested shunting one of the caster classes to the racial caster level section, but I think that would have limited support for class mechanics.

This and Epic Levels are my love from D&D, and I very much intend to work on this as I get a chance and gain enough knowledge. As a DM I have always allowed both Gestalt and Epic levels as long as the players are able to police themselves without having to have me step in and smack them down with the nerfbat.
