I've got the Advanced Race Guide but no matter where I look I can't seem to find the Centaur race option? Neither can my friend. Sorry if it's obvious.

As far as I can tell, Centaurs aren't pre-built, but you can build one using the Custom Race - Monstrous option from the ARG.

Currently Running: Pathfinder Second Edition
Currently Playing:
Pathfinder First Edition, Star Trek Adventures
Former HL Games: D&D 4e & 5e, Mutants & Masterminds 2E & 3E, Savage Worlds

That is weird...even with all options open for NPC races with books enabled (Inner Sea monster codex which I see they should be in) and character set for NPC I still don't see a list for NPC races. I could have sworn they were there for both classes and races. Odd that centaurs are not "pre-built" even though there is an archetype for cavaliers that is a racial archetype for Centaurs!

This adds the Pisky subrace to elves from Berserk! and additional subraces for the Gem Race.

Make sure you have Bestiary 1 turned on to see the B1 version of the centaur.

Geez, seems I mispoke, as I must have been blind. While I did have the bestiary on, I seem to have missed the no NPC races option the numerous times I kept looking looking for it. Once I FINALLY found it and turned it off I got centaur to appear. So yeah Mathias is 100% on this.

I was having a problem finding the centaur race. What I found out is that the add on "Midgard Campaign Setting" removes this race, as well as messes with the language common.

It probably modifies the available races and languages (and other stuff) to match the Campaign Setting for Midgard (I guess the clue is in the name) :-)

Aside from turning sources on, my only other recommendation would be to traverse to temperate grasslands...

But enabling the source would have been my first suggestion if others hadn't beat me to it.
