Yup, I agree. Until the native Mac OS version comes out, the existing W32 version of Hero Lab works pretty well in Crossover (you could use the free wine, too, but it is going to take some more advanced configuring on your part). My only real complaint about using Crossover is that it looks, well... ugly. Hero Lab looks like something out of 1996 in Crossover, even if you set Crossover to emulate Windows Vista. This is a flaw in Crossover though, not Hero Lab.

And yeah, I also have Parallels and, if your machine can handle running a full VM of Windows while you are in OSX, that is probably the ultimate solution for the time being. Try it!

I've been running Hero Labs in Parallels and it will randomly ask me to reactivate my license. I have one license on my desktop and one on my laptop. At the moment I am not able to activate it on my laptop. Anyone with any ideas why this keeps happening? I'm not making nay changes to the virtual machine.

Are your two licenses using the same license number, or did you request your secondary license number, and are using each number on only one computer?

(Help menu...About Hero Lab will let you see the license number each one is using)

(License menu...obtain secondary license if you are using the same license number in both places)

So, back to the question at hand and not try and resolve the Windows on Mac issue. Any updates on Mac version yet? Please keep us Mac user's in mind when it's time to test.

That's all that we have to announce for now. Development progresses

I didn't miss the point at all, I gave you the only solution available today that matches your request.

Crossover

Crossover doesn't run Windows like VMWare and Parallels. You asked how to get rid of windows as a second os, and crossover does exactly that. There is no longer a copy of windows running.

Never mind ... my browser only loaded half of the thread....

I will buy Hero Lab as soon as there is a definite confirmation that my PC license will transfer to the Mac.
