I have a slight problem, I can't download Vault 1.1.
I recently lost my internet connection at home, I have to go to the
Library to download stuff and I can't download 1.1 my computer and
it's to big to download on to a floppy.
Can it be zipped down enough to fit on a floppy or not?

Please help,

sigilbearerrich

You can use a split program to make the distribution fit on multple
floppies and then merge them back. Listed below is a simple easy to use
split program that (when it splits) provides a batch file to run on the
other machine.

Public Library compter first?

You'll need an internet connection to get V1.1 unlocked on your computer.
So I don't recommend doing the upgrade until (a) you have an internet
connection or (b) we get the manual licensing mechanism completed on the
licensing server. The latter is likely to be one to two weeks still.

Until you get that internet connection up and running again, I'm afraid
you're going to be stuck. :-(

Card Vault requires that you have an internet connection - and we made sure
to clearly state that on the packaging. At present, there's no way to get
around this.

You can probably download the V1.1 release to a friend's computer or at
work, then use the tool Bob pointed out to split it across multiple
floppies. However, you won't be able to access your established inventory
or build decks until you actually license it.

The licensing mechanism requires the internet connection to complete. Until
licensed, CV will only operate in demo mode. You will be only able to add
up to 20 cards to a deck and won't be able to load your inventory data if
you've added more than 50 cards to it. So even getting V1.1 installed on
your system probably won't get you running again - you need to get it
licensed, too.

The requirement for an internet connection for licensing will be changing
in the near future. The necessary changes have been made to CV, but I still
need to get the server stuff implemented to allow for it. Given some of the
things that have popped up recently (like the crash bug that we can't
reproduce and some stuff at GTS), this likely won't be done until late April.

Please get yourself setup with an internet connection again (as the product
requires), and you'll be good to go. We're working to eliminate this
requirement, but it's not completed yet.

Thanks, Rob

Another solution would be to take your computer to a friend's house and
use their internet connection. (LAN style).

Good idea! And if you are on a modem and have a friend with a dial-up
account, you can just configure to use their dial-up account on your
computer for a night. :-)
