Size is not really a problem.. on the Smart Image toolbar, there's a slider for scale. You can make the map as big as you need to in order to see the pins easily. Of course, if you make it too big, it may look pixellated.

True, but it won't help if there are several small areas clustered together causing pins to overlap unless you make the map big enough to pixelate it.
