If you create a Strix character in the current version of HL with up-to-date PF data files, then go to the Armor tab, you'll find that all their armor costs are doubled. This is due to the "Is Non-Humanoid?" flag being set to true in their race listing in the game's backend data (you can create a copy of the Strix race in the Data Editor to see this for yourself). Due to the "Unusual Creatures" armor rules, Medium-sized Non-Humanoids get double-cost armor.

I suspect this is a holdover from a previous error that was corrected back in PF Data 7.2 (Strix were missing the Humanoid subtype; it was added in 7.20). My guess is that even though the subtype was added, this flag was never un-set, leading to the incorrect armor pricing (and probably a small number of other errors related to "Is Humanoid?" checks). It should be an easy fix, however!

(Also submitting a bug report, but thought this might be useful for others encountering the difficulties)
