I got the latest update installed today, and while I was choosing spells in the d20 system, while I was clicking on the Grease spell, I got a hard crash, with the reported error being:

Had something to do with a virtual method call. Since I couldn't find any logs, I got this information from the Window Event Viewer. OS is 8.1.

I was able to reproduce the error. Everything is fine as long as I double-click spells for a spell book. If somehow I triple-click (or more) the spell I'm selecting very quickly, the crash occurs. Hope that helps.

Having the same issue as well, attacked the pop up. Though I am having it using the add spells button or double clicking.

We'd really appreciate it if everyone could report bugs to our bug tracking system, especially crash bugs, because then we don't miss anything, which is a possibility if they're just in a random thread on the forums.

support@wolflair.com is the email address to use for crash reports.

First time I'd had a bug with HeroLab, sorry about that. I assumed I would get a way to error report like RW has, but nothing came up. I will make sure to report any errors to support in the future. Just didn't know the protocol for HL. Thanks Mathias!

Sorry! This was also my first problem. Reporting shorty. Thanks.

Is there a way to roll back to version 6.1d? This bug is really impossible to work with.

I think last public version is 6.1a and yes you can. If on windows go to C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\download and look for a file called hl61a_win_install.exe and run it. It will give some messages about installing an older version but just "OK" through it.

Sorry don't know where this folder is on a mac but its has to be a similar place to where the "data" folder would be.

Do have to say this is strange to be happening as I ran the beta version of HL for almost a month without issues. I used the editor, made pcs, and npcs without issues. I know at least one PC was a magus spellcaster and a NPC oracle.

It seems to happen only on creating a spellbook and selecting certain spells for the spellbook. I was consistently getting it with Grease and Magic Missile in the d20 system. However, I found that by selecting the spell in question first, I could select it. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the state was saved with saving the portfolio, so it still breaks on any other spell selected later for the spellbook if it is one that causes the pure virtual call to fire.

Thanks for the rollback info. Got a game to run tonight with several spellbooks that I don't want to have to pen & paper if I don't have to. Great thing about HL is it is really efficient with game management, especially spells.

Not just d20 system. I have had it choosing edges and equipment in savage worlds.
