Hi Team,

is there a way to see all the linked content under heading content?

Princes of the Apocalypse
- Rivergard Keep
-- Encounter 1
-- Encounter 2

I would love to be able to click on a level and see (specifically monsters and npcs) everything that's linked under that level.

From a DM prep perspective this lets me do a few things.

A) enter a module and click the top most level to see ALL of the monsters that I need to have to run the module. Or... see all of the monsters that I need to buy.

B) click on the top level of a dungeon so I can see all of the monster mini's I need to have prepared for the session.

Is this possible currently?

Have you looked into the Containing Topic in the upper right corner? You can nest content this way but please do a search on the forums for limitations and best practices. There has been a lot of really good discussion on this feature.

So you' like to be able to select "Rivergard Keep" and see all of the monsters and NPCs you've linked in the text of descendant topics?

For example, let's say you have a deep topic hierarchy of multiple locations, rooms, etc. Like this:

Princes of the Apocalypse
- Rivergard Keep
-- The Great Hall
--- The Great Hall Basement
---- Encounter 1

And within The Great Hall, you text hyperlink to an NPC "Bob the Strong". Within "Encounter 1" you text hyperlink to "Goblin".

If I'm understanding your scenario correctly, currently there is no way to see all at once everything that is linked to from the entire tree of descendant topics. You can however select an individual topic (e.g. The Great Hall) and review all incoming and outbound links in the right-hand Transitions pane. This would show "Bob the Strong" in addition to other links to The Great Hall. Selecting encounter 1 would show "Goblin" and any other links.

You may also want to look at the Storyboard. You can create a flowchart showing the flow of your adventure that is clickable. I link adventures and storylines together this way.

You might also be able to leverage a custom view to get what you are after. Adding all the contents of a module to a specific view would allow you to have that specific content shown in your navigation pane with a single click.

Something very similar to this request is coming in the relatively near future. We're currently calling it "narrative connections". It's something we're going to be leveraging with published content, and everybody else will get to use it as well.

So stay tuned for updates on that over the summer...

Let's wait till you see it to be sure. It's a little bit different from what was requested, but I think it will work as a reasonably close and very useful alternative. If I'm wrong, I'm sure nobody here will be shy about telling us.
