Pre-requisite error...Slash Tongue???

I have a validation error that used to not be there for a character I made a while back. Now, it shows a pre-requisite error that says "Slash Tongue: To cast Evil spells, you and your deity may not be good."

The character is a Lawful Good Cleric and I do not have any Evil spells on the character sheet.

Any ideas on what happened?

Hrm, You have no evil spells on your list? You do not have the Spell "Slash Tongue" on your list at all?

If this is correct, could you send me your portfolio file that is causing this error so I could take a look.

This seems correct on first reading!

Emphasis mine, your character is Lawful Good so you can't cast Slash Tongue

No evil spells on the list, no spell called "slash tongue".

In fact, I created a totally new, Lawful Good Cleric with a Neutral Good Deity and it still comes up with the same error.

This is what I thought you meant, I really need to see your portfolio to know whats going on and why you are getting this error WITHOUT having the spell on your list.

I've taken a look at the Book of Vile Darkness file and there is nothing that I can see that would cause the game to think you have a spell you do not.

I am unable to reproduce this issue by creating a LG cleric with a NG deity. If you can provide more information about your character, or provide the portfolio as Toby suggests, that will help us figure out what's going on. It would also help to know if you have any user files not associated with the community set. Thanks.

Have you configured your character to use the Book of Vile Darkness source?

I've tested my system and its showing as a level 0 cantrip for cleric, wizard, sorcerer.

(Slash Tongue :- Reference page 103 in the hardcover)

If I alter the test character to a good alignment or deity it displays the pre req error correctly.
So unless there is something that's removed / altered the user file or data on your system then it should be there.

Just as an aside, HL hasn't loaded in safe mode which would also prevent user data being displayed?

I went to "Configure Hero" and unchecked the Book of Vile Darkness and the error went away.

When you reply to this message there is a button below this text area that says manage attachment. Click on it find the folder your portfolio is in and then select the portfolio to upload.
