I was worried about the always on initially. But that issue was really on my end and has now been fixed

Yeah except it's working of the 10+ years of Hero Lab code and data files that are already in place...
To compare Realm Works (something new) to Hero Lab Online (A refresh) is like comparing the creation of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the creation of a fork.
