I have a ranger variant class that I made a while back, "The Seaman". Basically it is a sailor class. I need help inputting the class I tried to do it this morning and I got all sorts of errors. I have the class in a xls spreadsheet and would like to know if someone could input it for me and send me the file.
Can anyone help me? I have a game this weekend (labor day) and could really use the file so that I can make and update my character before then. |

Is there someone I can send a datafile too and have them check it out? Would be nice to help me get started on this. I am also going to be trying this week to put the "Ultimate Magus" from the complete arcane into my HL as well, hopefully that isn't so hard.
I am also putting in the the "Favored Soul" but I am thinking it is just a sorcerer with a different spell list so I am going to start with the sorcerer and make some changes and see how that works. Can anyone help with either of the first parts? |

You can email me the file (to colen@wolflair.com) with a description of what the class is meant to do, and I'll see what I can help with. -- Colen McAlister (colen@wolflair.com) Chief Engineer, Lone Wolf Development http://www.wolflair.com/ |

I'd be willing to take a look at this for you too. I've managed to input several classes so far and they work great. So if you would like to have another set of eyes on this by all means email me.

OK well here I started on a data file for the favored soul from the complete divine. I didn't even do much cept change the name and some the tag info, it is giving me all sorts of errors.
Might I make a suggestion as well, can you put a button on the error log that pops up that allows you to copy the entire log to the clipboard to paste somewhere. |

Ok I figured that out somewhat. It seems that If you copy a character class and then change the "class tag" for instance it isn't changing that tag information on the other things in the character. So it pops up a bunch of errors mentioning your character class. I dont know how to explain it better I am sorry.
Ok here is something I have, I need to add feats and abilities based on a level. I know the script was written on the forums here somewhere but I cant find it again. So you can you give me the script for a bootstrap to make a feat only appear at a certain level? |

Almost everything in your class is described in the editor tutorials - setting base attack bonuses, or spell lists, or adding bonus feats or special abilities. If you have any specific questions about them I'll be happy to answer them, but you should be able to find the answers just by looking through the tutorials. The only complex things are the combat styles. You could add those as "Custom Special" abilities, just as described in the tutorial - either 6 different abilities, which the user selects from, or 2 abilities that then bootstrap others appropriately when the hero reaches an appropriate level. Hopefully this will be enough to set you on the right track for getting your class into Hero Lab. If you have any specific questions, or if Hero Lab is giving you errors that you don't understand, please post them here so Rob or I can help you sort them out.
