I've been hacking away at this for weeks now, and I'm no further along than
I was a few weeks ago. I'm still preety much lost, and I can't continue to keep working at this, holding up a large game indefinitely with no tangible results to show for it. Mike E's help has been enormous because he's gotten me this far, which I am incredibly grateful for but it's time to call it quits. I'll keep AB, and potter away at it in my spare time but at the moment, it's certainly nothing I'd recommend to my friends. - TMX To unsubscribe from this group, email armybuilder-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com Your use of Yahoo! We're sorry about the problems you've been having - datafiles for Army Builder can be pretty complex, as I found out when I started trying to write them - but what were they? One of the reasons this group exists is to provide help to people writing Army Builder datafiles; what sort of issues were you running into? Please let us know, so we can try to lend a hand. All you need to do is post your questions. If you don't understand something in the manual, ask here (mentioning that you've read the manual and don't understand it goes a long way :-). You said in a previous message: > Modifying existing files doesn't do me much good when one still > needs to understand how the game you're modifying works, which I > don't. Even the sole Battletech file wasn't much help because > it's far more complicated than anything I understand from the > manual. When I wrote the battletech files, I was still relatively new to creating AB files. I asked a lot of questions. If you think the files your writing will be like the battletech files, flick me a note about anything you don't understand in them and I'll try and help. Nice to meet ya. My AIM is Terminax01 and ICQ # is 6434166 :-) I haven't given up completely, I'm still pottering away at this stuff and trying to write up a cohesive "action" report to explain my problems to date. I just haven't had the time lately to do much on it. - Terminax ------------------------ Yahoo!
