I am trying to build a new Game system but I can't seem to figure out how to load the skeleton files in the editor. When I launch the editor and try to open a data file, I browse to the folder of the newly created game system and it doesnt recognize anything. The editor appears to want a .user file
Any help? |

You'll have to use an XML editor to edit the raw files. Read through the wiki - it lists a number of sites to download one.

I guess I'm missing something then. I don't understand the purpose of the editor. If you can't edit data files with it, then what is it for?

The editor is for adding custom content to an existing game system - defining how the game system works still needs to be done by editing the text of the files.
For example, within the editor.dat file in the skeleton files, it defines what entries and fields are available in the editor you see. |

Ok, making sense now. It's not quite what I thought it would be. I'll give it a shot.
