Just grabbed the current build last nite, wanted to say thanks for all the hard work!
Noticed a few things, do you want to hold off on bug tracking until you get further along?

Only had time to make one test character, a Mind Melter.
Saw that the starting Power Points were doubled. (Per Clint Black, they start with 20 and do not get further doubling from Master/Major Psi.)
The bonus power "Detect Arcana" counted against the starting powers.
The verification flagged "Major Psionic" as not meeting the pre-reqs. (Did not have the AB Psionics.)
The verification flagged powers that were above starting level. (But should be available with "Born a Hero" per Clint's clarifications.)

Nothing really jumped out at me in the way of typos, but the organization of the Mega powers was following alphabetical which made the Mega powers harder to find. (Maybe just roll the full description for the Mega version into all the normal powers since the Mega-version isn't a seperate power, but an expanded option for the base power. That way it won't throw the count off either.)

I see that there were more updates already, I'll see if I have any time tonite for test characters.

I just build a couple MARS characters and noticed (at least with the Power Armor type) that the Agility had been raised to 10, but trying to take any Agility based skills past 6 incurred the double cost. (I have a .POR file that shows this if you need to see it.)
I'm not sure but he Fortune and Glory granted two bumps to Agility that may have caused this.
Also, I saw that the Cybernetics descriptions don't fit in the allotted space.

So I working on cleaning up a few things in the datafile before I send another copy to TCArKnight, and I noticed that we have not added any edges that has an either/or Iconic framework requirement like Split the Second which applies to both the Crazy or Juicer Iconic Framework.

I found an example of a racial edge from Shaintar that multiple different races can use, here is the syntax

hero.tagis[Edge.edgStEMBlo] + hero.tagis[Race.racStBrinc] + hero.tagis[Race.racStEldak] <> 0

What is the iconic framework equivalent of the Race.XXXX listed above?

I need to double check, but off the top of my head, I think it’s Group.xxx.

Cool,

The other error I got was with the MARS robot pilot. It was giving a framework error when I did not select a robot. But when I did select a robot it said that the resource was overspent, like I selected 2 robots.

Hi:

New to dev in Hero Lab.

I've been trying to look over the Savage Rifts files and so far, I can only read source, can't get them to compile.

Forgive me if I have overlooked something obvious, like I said, new to HL development. I read through the materials on developing a new game system, but am not sure where to put these files to compile them.

I am sure I am missing something, but I can't find any "put source files here" - can anyone give me a "bump" here in the right direction? A link?

I've tried creating a new game system based off savage worlds, adding these to the savage worlds source files, but I cannot get them to compile in. If I put the data files in the same folder as the active game system, that generates compilation errors, and if I put them in with the "source" folder that has no meaning at all...maybe this is not yet at a stage to be able to compile?

Thanks folks.

John

Hello,

Welcome to the group. For starters, can you run the Savage Rifts to make a character?

Don't create a new game system, no need for that at all. The files just go into your data file directory. From the FAQ "You can find the path for user files by going to Tools -> Explore Folders -> Game Data Folder in Hero Lab. That should take you to the right place on either Windows or the Mac."

The "source" folder is for source data files for the system and is a reference only. That directory isn't actually read by the program.

Data files authored (please let me know if you see any issues with any of these if you have/use them):
Official (In the downloader)
50 Fathoms, Deadlands: Hell On Earth, Deadlands: Noir, East Texas University, Necessary Evil (requires Super Powers Companion), Pirates of the Spanish Main, Space 1889 (original file by Erich), Tour of Darkness, Weird War II, Weird Wars: Rome
Coming Eventually
Evernight (LWD has completed their review but I have some fixes to make first... although Pinnacle mentioned this might get an overhaul to SWADE so I may just wait for that first. If you just HAVE to have this now, though, just PM me)
