So I have someone sitting at 3.7 essence with latent awakening. After almost getting murdered in a fight, the character awakened. However there really is no easy way to convert latent awakening to awakening as with the -2.3 essence your magic is reduced to -2. Even if you convert the character over to an adept (in this case) you have to up the magic by 3 to get a 1. Then when you use karma to try to up the 1 to a 2, you are charged the price of raising a 3 to a 4.

Um..is Hero Lab doing that? I would think it wouldn't, since, no matter your essence, you are supposed to come out of a Latent Awakening with Magic 1, regardless of your essence. Sounds like something that should be reported as a bug.

Please read the text of Latent Awakening as presented in Hero Lab - at the end, we had to add a note, because we can't track which augmentations were added before the latent awakening and which were added after it:

Quote:
Note: If your magic attribute has been reduced by augmentation, you should add enough attribute increases on the Advances tab to bring it up to 1 after you add the newly aquired quality. The initial spell or adept power should be added as a free advancement. All of these can be made free by changing their cost to 0 with the "Advancement Karma Cost" adjustment from the Permanent Adjustments table on the Personal tab.
(The only way to track the exact order everything was added in would be to require you to purchase and remove augmentations from the Advances tab, rather than the Augment tab after character creation had finished, which would mean that like fixing a mistake in advancement, fixing a mistake in the augmentations you added would require deleting everything added after then, then changing the mistake, then putting everything back).
