B4 I post a bug report

When adding a force 2 Ally Spirit it is saying it costs 40 karma...I thought it was 16 karma...is there a mistake or is it accurate

Not sure, just post the bug report. LWD would prefer you to just post it and let them sort it out. They will tell you (usually quite kindly) if it is not a bug and explain why.
