Hi! I'm anxiously looking forward to purchasing the retail ruleset as soon as it becomes available, as well as an Ultimate Powers expansion as soon as you can manage it. Until then Im happily playing around with the public preview. It seems a really great product...clean design and easy to use.

One little thing I wouldn't mind seeing in some future version, is some sort of token notice that you've exceeded power levels on a score as soon as you go past it. I understand now, that HL handles attack/defense tradeoffs automatically, and will eventually give you a violation warning if you exceed the PL in *both* the linked stats...which is great. But I admit to a bit of confusion at first as to why I was able to barrel past the PL in attack bonus at first (having not yet tried to assign any ranks to powers, or having increased my STR enough to trip the warning).

Just some sort of token immediate feedback that you've exceeded the PL and are now into "Tradeoff mode", with an indication of what you're sacrificing by pumping the number higher, would be helpful to new users, and my newer players (all of which I will be recommending the software to). Perhaps the affected number(s) could simply become yellow or something.

Of course, its entirely possible that such a thing is already in, and Im missing it. In which case, I apologize, and please just ignore me. Thank you for developing for this great game, and I look forward to the ruleset and continued expansion.

Hmm... that's a good idea, it would definitely be able to helpful to see
that happen as you make the changes. I'll add it to the list of things
to add to the files.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response! In the new 2.1a I've now noticed the little purple up/down arrow Icon that pops up next to the trait to provide some instant feeback about PL. That's great, and should work nicely to remind my players that they're into "trade off" territory for the given PL. Certainly not necessary for a seasoned builder, but a nice bit of polish for newer users, especially since the game caps some traits right at PL, and others at PL+5.

The only thing further I would add, is that at some point it might be nice to add the term "trade-off" or "Trade Off Mode" somewhere in the mouse over description of the icon, just for the sake of consistent terminology. That way it will be a direct reference to the section the rulebook that talks about "Trade Offs".

Thanks again for the response, and your support of the game. I eagerly look forward to Ultimate Power!

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll add this for the next release.
