I got it to work on the second try. But it happens with the datafiles too, and there's only the one source for them.

Try using the slower download... I had the same problem myself.

> Hey. I've been having problems downloading things from within Cardvault. I
was hoping it would go away when I finally got 1.1a to dl right, but it just
happened again when trying to dl 1.1b. The problem seems to come from when
I'm doing anything else at all over the internet. If I'm browsing, checking
my mail, ANYTHING while CV is downloading something, I get an error when its
finished dling. For the updates, it exited out of CV to install like normal,
but then an error message pops up say unexpected file size and that my file
size is 13--whatever when its supposed to be 17-whatever. Then when dling
datafiles and doing something else, it will completely finish dling and ask
if I want to import them now, I say yes, and then it gives me an error that
the files must be corrupted and to try again. I may not be using exact terms
here, so I hope you understand. Well, if I exit out of everything else I'm
doing online and then re-dl the update of files, everything works fine. I'm
no!
> t sure what the problem is, and I was wondering if you've encountered it
before. I have dial-up and dling everything a couple times until it works
right is VERY time consuming.

This is more than likely due to a problem with yahoo. they seem to be
constantly modifying things.

Yes, they are. I'm a moderator of a Star Wars yahoo group, and things are in a constant state of flux. That said, isn't it that only some of the datafiles come from the group, while most of the datafiles and the updates and such all come form the lone wolf server? At any rate, I've been busy, and I'll test out some things tomorrow and see if I can track down a cause. Has this been happening to you too?

I have never had a problem with dls. Even on a system with Outlook and several
X-windows running at the same time.

Some datafiles are hosted by Lone Wolf Development, some by Yahoo groups.
For example, the Magic files are on yahoogroups, while Mage Knight is
hosted by Lone Wolf. On this page:

Try downloading some of the datafiles authored by "Lone Wolf Development"
from within Card Vault. If they work fine, but you have problems with
others, then the issue is most likely with yahoo groups. (I know I
sometimes have problems downloading stuff from them.)

The standard download is, but the alternate download is not; hence, if you
have problems with the standard download, please use the alternate download.
