This is an exceedingly obnoxious error message that I get all the time as well. From trial and error I think it has to do with the fact that there is "CUSTOM" editor tabs and the editor getting confused when it tries to reload sometimes.
Or at least thats what I think is causing it. Shadow may have more details on this. But I hear ya, it gets so frustrating that some days I dont even bother trying to use the "TEST NOW!" button. I just shut everything down, and reload, which is a HUUGE time sink. |

This is an open bug/issue I have been working with LW on for a long time. Colen didn’t have luck before tracking it down and neither has Dave. The issue has to do with amount of content in Pathfinder and its totally random when it happens.
As I can duplicate the root cause without the Community Pack installed I can assure you it has nothing to do with .user files. If anyone can ever constantly produce the bug PLEASE record the steps and let me know. I have tried everything I can think of to make the error happen and cant ever to consistently happen. Until we can reproduce the bug in a constant manor it will just be luck for LW to fix it. Personally, the only pattern I have ever observed is that the FIRST compile I perform during a given Hero Lab session always works (not including any compile performed during loading of the game system). After that, it's likely to produce the error.
Weird thing is, occasionally I'll have stretches of a week or two where it doesn't happen at all and I start thinking it's somehow worked itself out, and then it just suddenly jumps out at me like Jason Voorhees offing the survivor of the last sequel. |

Uninitialised variables - that's what usually causes this sort of thing - I'm just saying :-)
