I'm thinking of getting a mini-tablet that runs Windows 10 to carry Hero Lab to games (I'm a GM) I've found one that reviews well but it runs an Intel Atom x5 Quad Core with 2GB of RAM.

My concern is that it might be too puny to manage the software. Anyone care to venture an opinion?

I've seen it run on my brother's Surface, and I have a full sized tablet PC I could put it on but my preference is for something a little more... svelt. I carry enough crap around to games as is.

Hero Lab is over ten years old and did not require a top of the line computer back then, although faster single processors will mean faster execution whenever you change something.

Here's the official requirements: http://www.wolflair.com/index.php?co...m_requirements

The screen resolution is more important than anything else, since it determines how many columns of information you can see on the screen.

I use HL and RW on an Asus Transformer T100TA. It uses an older Atom than yours but the programs run OK. (A bit slow, as you might expect, but OK.)

8" Atom X5 handles it quite well. I got the tablet just for HL really. Cost under $70. Now I don't have to lug around my i5 tablet (heavy, big). But the wireless keyboard is bigger than the tablet .

Still easy to carry around.
