I added a new skill psionics. I just duplicated Arcane and changed it a bit. It doesn't show up on the skills tabs but it does show up on the list of skills I can pick to be proficient in.

There's an old placeholder skill called skTools in the Deprecated Things .user file. If I recall correctly, it did show up in the skills tab. You might want to check out how it was programmed and see if it offers any insights.

Oddly when I rebooted my pc it started showing up without any additional work.

Oh yeah. Reloading Hero Lab is always a good idea if you can't get something to work on first glance.
