I love the fact that CV can now track my whole collection instead of just the
Gold legal stuff. If I have questions about the file, should I address them
directly to the author or here on this forum? I will write them now and send
them to the author of the file if I need to.

1. The Imperial Assembly cards are not in the file, i.e. Kachiko's Kiss,
Annexation, etc. Do you plan on adding these soon?

2. There are some typos and inconsistencies, i.e. An Empty Victory and Empty
Victory, An, that I have noticed. Should I post them or send them to you?

3. Is there an easy way for me to correct the problem with the authoring
kit? I never learned the new programming languages as it never fir in my
career path. I know BASIC, FORTRAN, and some Pascal.

Ron

Bob King, a.k.a. Kuni Tetsu, who is a regular here, is the author.

Put this on your list, Bob. I sent you the data for these.

These should be corrected in the next rev. Basically, Bob reordered the
titles for library sorting way back before we had library sorting
capabilities.

In other news, I am working on the Clan War Saga foils and shoudl hopefully
have the last of the preview cards next week.

It should be in the data files by the end of the week. Sooner if I can manage
it. The data is there, I just need to add a few bits of support info and run it
through my processor.

I have most of the data, but given some severe time constraints over the last
month, I did not get to the promo cards. All of them will be included soon.

Send them to me, and I will get them cleaned up. Ed did such a good job finding
those, I am surprised there were any left... please follow the directions in
the L5R FAQ for notifying me of the error so that it can be quickly found and
crushed

I use Visual Basic to do my processing. I was thinking of working on a generic,
table driven version when I get a chance, but I can send you the code if you
want. I embed it in an Excel spreadsheet to make data management much easier

Items 1 & 2 were already answered, so I'll address #3. The file format used
by Card Vault is XML, so it's a simple text file that is similar in
structure to an HTML file. To edit data files, all you need is a text
editor and a look through the Authoring Kit documentation, which is
included in the Authoring Kit download.

For typos in card names and the like, you probably don't even need to
review the docs. :-)

Hope this helps,
Rob

Also, we'll be releasing a simple GUI-based tool in the near future that
allows editing of cards. When this occurs, quick edits will be even easier.

However, this will NOT elmiinate the need for programmed converters that
translate large repositories of card data into the format needed for Card
Vault, such as what Bob is doing for the L5R files. The tool will be great
for quick fixes by users in situations like this.

My current guess for release is late April, but it could be earlier or
later, depending on a few other factors.

Thanks, Rob
