Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone else is having an issue. I've installed Hero Lab (Shadowrun) on my new MacBook Pro Retina Display, and it's running very, very slowly. I shouldn't be having an issue as I have 16Gb RAM, an SSD drive, a 2.7GHz i7...everything else is blindingly fast, except Hero Lab. All the tooltips appear quickly, but when making a selection between tabs, or increasing a stat it takes seconds (5-6) for anything to happen. Very strange. I'm running OS X Mountain Lion, all software is updated. Strangely, I do NOT have this issue on my home iMAC i7, also running OS X Mountain Lion. Il all ways, the home iMAC is a slower machine, but no issues. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I've got all the Shadowrun supplements except Gun Haven 2. I can't think of what might be causing the issue, especially since all other software runs so quickly. |

I have exactly the same experience, and exactly the same setup: an iMac that runs HL fine, and a new Retina MBP that runs HL like its on a several-second delay.
I haven't had any success correcting it or identifying the cause. Wondering if it has something to do with the way the MBP scales the graphics behind the scenes to suit the much higher-resolution display -- HL could be doing some non-standard GUI stuff that is choking the graphics processor. But I'm just spitballing. |
