I have looked around and can not find Infinity Data files for 3.0 any where. The task of writting them myself seems pretty huge, so it seems the pinned topic said the general Army Builder forum was the place to post question if your game system does not exist I am guessing this is the right place then. If not please could someone direct me to the proper forum.

To the point. I am not sure if it is possible, but does not seem to be to cross 2.0 files over to 3.0 is anyone thinking of putting Infinity into 3.0 or not is what I would really like to know. If not then I guess I need to know how I can at least get a license for 2.0 again as I deleted mine when I switched to 3.0.

Thanks for you time.

I'd also like some AB3 Infinity files, I've seen output from them but can't find them anywhere. They might be for 2.x though, judging from the copyright date :/

I don't know anything about the mechanics for Infinity, nor do I know about the existing V2.x data files. However, when we released V3.0, we also provided a conversion tool that would do as good a job as possible to convert V2.x data files to V3.0. Some game systems were completely converted, while others were only 90% converted and needed a bit of hand-tweaking - there were some dramatic changes from V2.x to V3.0, and some things were done radically different in a way that couldn't be automatically converted.

This means that it would be possible to use the old conversion tool on the old Infinity data files for V2.x. Note, however, that we've made some substantial revisions in the V3.1 and V3.2 updates. Consequently, whatever files were auto-converted would probably require some additional tweaks to get them to work with V3.2, even if they were perfect for V3.0.

If someone wants to give the converter a try with Infinity, it's still available on our website. You'll find it at the URL below. The Zip file contains the converter itself and some documentation on how to use it.

Disclaimer: The above converter was written 5 years for converting to V3.0. It wasn't perfect, but it handled just about everything. The converter is *not* an actively supported tool, so the output from it will almost certainly need some tweaking to get it working.

I'll give that a try. I've been looking at the def files for WH40k as a baseline (since I'm most familiar with those rules) to learn how to construct this, having the converter helps significantly.

[edit] actually, scratch that, it produces gibberish that's even harder to understand. Guess I'll just have to read through the whole authoring kit again and figure it out myself. [/edit]

Thanks for the info, rob. I'll give both of those a try, and between the two I should get a satisfactory result.

Hey guys,

I've been working on porting the Necromunda source files to AB 3.2, and I was hoping this tool might help. All I can get out of it so far is a message saying "definition file for game system specified does not exist."

Any help?

Are you sure you pointed the tool at the correct file / folder? It sounds like it's saying that it can't find a definition file, which should be in the folder for the Necromunda game system.
