creating magic armor is a total PITA that is NOT intuitive at all. I have to buy the quality up first then a lvl 1 rune than a lvl 2 rune etc. Any way we could just get some checkboxes or something that is easier than what it does now?

It sucks when I spent so long trying to figure out how to do something that HL Classic does with next to zero effort.

Interesting. I always thought the HLC way was convoluted.

It IS, but at least I can figure out how to do it. They actually figured out how to make item creation HARDER.

By the rules of the game you must have a +1 Rune before you are allowed to upgrade to a +2. This is the same for Item Quality as you must have a minimum quality before applying a specific rune. So why is following the PF2 rules a bad thing in this case?

I am honestly trying to understand because the flow of adding Item Quality and then runes to me is very logical.

The rule makes sense, but the UI for achieving that is really annoying.

Heightened spells in Wands and in spell slots is something that just can't figure out. I have to conclude that the functionality isn't in the program. Probably should just bug report it

It's there, I've done both. There's a -/+ Box in the spell selection that lets you increase the spell level (I'd be more specific but HLO is down) though it's not reflected well on the PDF sheet.

For what it's worth, my wife (who is, to be fair, legally blind) loathes the UI compared to HLC and hated the sheet output (which she has to use during games) even more.

Well, the sheet output does look more like something from accounting than a modern character, that's true, but for me the UI is lightyears better than HLC. But I understand that visually impaired persons do have special requirements and HLO might not be best suited for those. I don't have it in front of me right now, but isn't there a high contrast mode or something? Or am I confusing it with Realm Works?

In response to the OP, I agree, it took me way longer than it probably should to figure out how to create a magic item. HLO can't change the rules, but there's probably room for improvement on the UI in this regard.
Unfortunately I don't have a great idea how to go about it, right now. Maybe something like they recently did with the skills and the dots and locks? Maybe something similiar could be done for the item quality at least?!

They are working on the UI. This and the Spell UI was something they wanted to fix after they got all of the major bugs ironed out.

Yeah, after reporting this as a bug. I talked to someone about this and swapped some screen shots. I finally figured out how to do this.

ALso in one of the updates they DO give some indication that the spell has been heightened. So it's a smidge better.
