At long last, V1.3 has finally seen the light of day! This new update
includes a couple of key things that lots of folks have been waiting for.

First of all, the World of Darkness / Vampire: the Requiem data files
are now officially available. For new users, you can select the new
game system when initially activating your license. For existing
users, if you want to use WoD/VtR in addition to d20, you can
purchase access to the new game system for $20. This can be done most
easily by launching HL, going to the License menu, and selecting the
Purchase Data Package option at the bottom. Alternately, you can go
to the license administration website directly at
www.lonewolfdevel.com to make your purchase. For those of you who
want WoD/VtR *instead* of d20, we can change your license over to the
new game system. In order to do this, you'll need to send an email to
support@wolflair.com that includes your name, email address, and a
request for us to make the change. It's a manual process on our end,
so it can't be done automatically. Once we've made the change, we'll
notify you. This option to change the game system selection is only
valid through December 31, 2007.

The other big item in V1.3 is the inclusion of the complete
Pathfinder material from Paizo Publishing. All of the world details
for Pathfinder are now included with the d20 material, from feats to
weapons to prestige classes. To access the Pathfinder material,
please refer to the d20 System FAQ that is accessible via the Help
menu within HL.

We've also tightened things up a bit, refining and improving
behaviors, as well as fixing a small number of bugs that have been reported.

More detailed information on the World of Darkness and Pathfinder
additions will be posted tomorrow morning, but the most important
bits are covered above for those of you reading now.

As always, give us a holler here on the forums if you've got
questions or run into problems. We'll do our best to get things sorted out.

Happy gaming and may the dice be with you....

I just downloaded it directly from the website and it broke herolab. Was that a no-no? The issue is this, when I start the program, the Herolab logo thing, with the scientist and the female adventurer and such pops up, then behind that logo a blue error message appears, which obviously I can't read or click on to continue, so the program appears to be stuck waiting for me to do something with the error message.

I haven't found any way to manipulate the logo, move it out of the way or close it. What is with that? Can you guys give me a suggestion?

I'm an idiot. I was burnt out last night and just KNEW I was forgetting something in the release process. But I couldn't figure out what I'd forgotten. It's fixed now.

Very odd. I've never heard of this happening before.

Take a look in the folder on your computer that is configured for "temporary" files. This is often "c:windowstemp". Is there are file with the name "lwderror?????.txt"? The "?????" will be replaced by a set of numbers that will vary. If you have one or more of these files and the date/time is from this morning, please send those to me. If HL actually crashed, the those files will contain the crash log and we can investigate what happened.

Well, you conveniently managed to find a hole in the system. <sigh> You logged in using a secondary license to place your order, which should be fine. The system tracks all authorizations associated with the primary license so that all linked licenses can share the same authorizations. Unfortunately, there was one step in the process where the secondary license you used was not being properly mapped to the primary license, so the authorization was assigned incorrectly on the server.

If none of that made any sense, don't worry about. All should now be fixed.

Please run the "Re-Activate License" wizard within the product again and everything should be working properly now.

Sorry for the hassle,
Rob
