*** PLEASE READ ***

Hero Lab V1.0f is now available for download. This new release
includes an assortment of refinements to the editing process,
highlighted by the ability to add your own custom spellcasters. This
means the Artificer and War Mage classes that have been asked about
can now be added, as can lots of other classes.

Please review the readme file installed with HL and the FAQ for the
d20 data files for full details on what has been added/changed.
However, there are a few key items of note that I want to officially
call to your attention:

1. If you created custom classes using V1.0e, you will need to
re-generate the panel associated with the class. Typically, all you
need to do is load your class and click on the button in the editor
to accomplish this. The caveat is the next item (#2).
2. The naming convention for the auto-created panel files has been
changed. You will need to delete the old panel file (named
"panel_*.dat") to avoid having conflicting files lying around.
3. All types of abilities, including appropriate feats, can now be
placed in the Specials tab.
4. Items in the Specials tab for which you do not currently meet the
pre-requisites appear in a disabled state. Same with feats in the Feats tab.
5. Spell casting behaviors can now be readily defined and
spellcasting classes quickly created. There's a tutorial on this in
the d20 documentation.
6. There is now a "How To" section in the d20 documentation that
outlines some common tasks for the d20 data files. This section will
continue to evolve over time.
7. The "kUserRanks" field has been renamed to "kUserPts", better
reflecting its function as the total number of skill points spent by
the user in that skill. If you used that field in scripts, your
script will need to be adjusted to reference the new field name.
8. The "kUserValue" field has been renamed to "kUserRanks", better
reflecting its function as the total ranks you bought in that skill.
If you used that field in scripts, your script will need to be
adjusted to reference the new field name.
9. The "childopt" script target reference has been renamed to
"childfound" to provide a more accurate name. If you used "childopt"
anywhere in scripts, your script will need to be adjusted to use the
new reference.

Those are the key items of note. There were lots of additional bug
fixes and enhancements added in this release, both in HL itself and
in the d20 data files. Complete details can be found in the readme
file and the d20 data file FAQ.

Have fun with this new update and let us know if you have any
questions and/or suggestions!

Thanks, Rob
