Is there some way to organize your gear list by what container or location it's in? Right now, I've got a metric buttload of stuff that I keep stored in a half-dozen different locations, but the gear list won't let me sort things by what container or location they're stored in - it only displays them in alphabetical order by item name.

What I'd like is to be able to organize my gear list something like this, with the containers and locations as headings and the contents listed under the appropriate headings:

Backpack
stuff in backpack
Belt Pouch
stuff in belt pouch
Quiver
ammunition in quiver
Bandolier
stuff in bandolier
Guild Footlocker
stuff in guild footlocker
Hidden Stash
stuff in hidden stash

Is there any way to do that, or is it something that's at least being worked on currently? I don't particularly care if stuff is indented or not - all I care about is whether or not I can organize my gear by where I'm carrying or storing it.

This isn't currently doable, as far as I know. Though I agree it would be a cool feature.

And two and a half years later, a new, lone voice cries out "me too!" :-)

Yes, that would be extremely useful, especially for overprepared characters and players.

I would also greatly appreciate this feature. In addition it would be nice to be able to collapse and expand containers, hiding and showing their contents. The gear list can get quite long...

This is exactly the question that I was looking for an answer to. A way to organize gear on the Character Sheet printout is desperately needed.

I'd like this, too. The characters in my D&D5e beginning campaign don't have much stuff yet, but I can see that changing in seconds once we start play.
