I don't know if I've found a bug, or if I messed something up in my HL.

Could someone create a boulder as a thrown weapon (the ones on Ogremoch do 7d10). I made them 50 lbs and Simple weapons.

When I equip them on Ogremoch, they rise in damage, on their own, to 28d10 for some reason.

When I equip a boulder to a Cloud Giant, I get the same damage.

I just need to know if I have a problem at my end or if it is a HL issue . . .

Note: I just created a new portfolio, added a Cloud Giant, equipped it with my 7d10 boulder and the giant shows 21d10 for the boulder's damage.

I thought maybe the damage was scaling to the size of the giant, so I checked off 'Damage doesn't scale to size?' and still had the same issue.

I have resolved it issue by setting the Fixed Range Damage to 7d10 then adding an eval script to add the strength bonus to the damage, but this is a pain and I'd like to know if I am doing something wrong or there is an HL bug that needs to be reported.

It sort of sounds like its adjusting for size. Maybe that Don't change with size tag is not working correctly.

Problem with using "Fixed Range Damage" is that what about all the "typed" bonuses to damage the weapon can get. Plus don't forget about the global Damage fields that should be getting applied.

How did you make this weapon? Is it another Natural Attack you used? Or did you make a new simple weapon called "Rock/Boulder"?

I made it a new weapon.

I created an eval script that grabs the values from wDieCount & wDieSize and created a 'Fixed Range Damage' string. This way anything that changes either of the values automatically updates the 'Fixed Range Damage' string.

When I have time, I'll try creating a version of my Boulder based on a wSlam attack and see where that goes. I need Ogremoch for tonight's session, so I am going with this for now.

For the time being this works.
