I want to change the definitions for some items in the data files without editing the base data files, so that if new version are released I don't have to re-do my changes. From the documentation, either .aux or .ext files should do the trick, but I'm not sure which, or how to create one.

For example, from the 40K Ork data files, if I want to over-ride the definition
Code:
<option id="orGitF" name="Gitfinda" abbrev="Gitfinda"
description="(see C:O, pg. 56 and 6E FAQ)." category="wargear"
equipment="yes" footnote="yes" cost="0"/>
with this definition:
Code:
<option id="orGitF" name="Gitfinda" abbrev="Gitfinda"
description="Ignores Cover: no cover saves allowed. (see C:O, pg. 56 and 6E FAQ)." category="wargear"
equipment="yes" footnote="yes" cost="0"/>
how do I do it without editing the original .dat file?
