The Haunted One background in Curse of Strahd allows one language choice but it is restricted to exotic languages. Is there a way to explicitly restrict the language selection of a background to a subset of the languages?

Thanks.

Its bad design to "restrict". The better way is have the background toss a warning message if a non-exotic language is taken.

In my own DnD Next Datafiles I did this independent
Of the "normal" language chooser by offering the
User a combobox where the languages where
Offered, using the optional feature code (not
Sure if this exists in the official next files, but
I think it is likely). I then used a component
Type of Language.

But not sure how much different the official
Codebase is, my next datafiles were based
On the 4e datafiles.
