Is there a way to edit feats so they grant the greater versions at a certain base attack, caster level or hit dice.

Here is a better explanation we have been trying to limit the tax feats and improve a few feats so things like improved trip grant greater trip at +6 base attack. Is there a way to do this automatically?

Yes, with some mechanics and scripting pretty much everything is possible.

I would disagree with that statement.

And I should of added easily I’m not very good with the editor

Minous' statement is correct - doing it that way is of course not going to be easy. Take a look at the "World is Square" houserules. This might be close enough to what you want to use.

Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew).
HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP).

DM and player of D&D since 1980.

Ah, never said using the HL editor was going to be easy. Ive done my fair amount of dabbling and Ill never say its easy. Dami probably has the easy solution.

if you want to try going the editor route, I would look at the feats that grant incremental bonuses to skills, specifically the scripting for it.

You would probably have to make your own versions of each of the feats you wanted and use a variant of those skill feats scripts to up the bonuses.

I think I saw someone make a feat that worked incrementally like that for an ability, but I can not for the life of me remember where though.

Current Games:
5E Homebrew - DM

Recent Games:
Shadowrun 5E - GM
Pathfinder Homebrew - DM
Curse of Strahd 5E - Player

My HL Files - Birthright, Creatures, and items
Birthright Setting and D20Despot Let me know if it breaks.

You'd have to own that package, but there is a scaling feat variant in Open Design's New Path Compendium (at least in the Expanded Edition, not sure about the original one)
